"Enrique's Journey" By Sonia Nazario

So for the Outside Reading Assigment, I have looked at many books and have settled on one in particular. Enrique's Journey by Sonia Nazario is about a hispanic boy who is in search of his mother. His mom left him when  he was only five years old, its been twelve years now that Enrique has seen his mom. So he will endure a long harsh journey to be with his mom.
I choose this book because not me personally can relate to this, but the majority of my family came here having to cross the border. Most of them have been here around 17 years and now know how to speak english, but I can't imagine what it must of been like when they had to come. The majority of my family was arounf Enrique's age.
I am eager to read about (Enrique's Journey) and learn about the challenges one faces coming to the United states as an illigel immigrant.

  1. I'm definitely interested to see your commentary on this book Griselda, however I'm concerned that you are missing so many assigned posts. There is nothing here from October, including drug testing and the death penalty. Please make a better effort to stay up to date on your blog, especially when you have time in class to do your posts.
